Abstract
In this study data from the 1996 Brazilian Demographic and Health Survey are used to identify socio-demographic factors associated with the risk of nutritional deficits among children in the second year of life. Nutritional deficit was measured on the basis of height vs. age. A twolevel hierarchical logistic regression model was used to control for dependence between observations, since children chosen from the same community are more likely to present such problems than children from other places.Downloads
